Create a Virtual Directory - Step V

The following are the steps that you take to create a virtual directory in Windows XP Professional.

11. In the Browse For Folder window, find the c:\Inetpub\wwwroot directory and click on it.

12. Click Make New Folder and give the folder the name tutorial.

13. The Web Site Content Directory window should look like the image below. Click Next.

14. Be sure to check the Read and Run scripts check boxes in the Access Permissions window. Personally, I am not a security wizard, but I check all of the boxes. Then click the Next button.

15. That's just about it. Click Finish in the Virtual Directory Creation Wizard window.

16. Your Internet Information Services window should now look like the image below.
